Environmental problems such as ice-melting and the greenhouse effect have become increasingly severe in the last decades. Some people argue that only governments and large companies can address problems while people are too limited to make a difference. From my own perspective, not only authorities and big enterprises have the capacities to modify this condition, but also every person can beautify our surroundings neat and tidy.

To begin with, we should shoulder the obligation to take care of our unique and single earth. If rubbish were thrown here and there, the globe would become a horrible garbage yard, an irreversible disaster towards the whole eco-system, which is hardly imagined. By contrast, the entire world would be altered more harmonious and cleaner atmosphere due to environmental protection in mind and practical actions.

As time goes by, more and more people realize that our problems related to the environment are not solved by having a division in opinion. Some blame the governments for doing too little for the environment, while others hold ordinary people accountable for the problems. I think that both ordinary people and people in power, such as politicians, are responsible for the environment's damage daily.

I think that people who can make crucial decisions such as leaders or presidents should pass and enforce laws that require all citizens to pay attention to environmental issues like air or water pollution, since, if a law is passed in a place by the authorities, people will follow and obey it. In my opinion, the governments should tackle the problems by punishing people who either accidentally or intentionally harm the environment. There is a contentious argument over whether a normal person can fix the environmental issue globally as their contribution is minor to the ongoing problem. I can't entirely agree with this opinion because every individual is responsible for stopping using plastic items to save the earth and use fewer motor vehicles on the road.

The main reason why I believe this is because using harmful plastic and chemicals damaging the earth severely. This is due to excessive dumping of plastic bags everywhere, causing the land to be loaded with harmful chemicals and enter the food chain affecting people's health. On top of it, plastic doesn't degrade easily making recycling plastic an arduous job. To Illustrate, a recent survey by the University of Delhi shows data that plastic recycling in India is only 30-40% compared to other nations. However, using eco-friendly items would save the environment from plastic ill-effects.

There is a school of thought that the environmental problem could only be solved by the politicians who are very powerful at policymaking, and ordinary people are useless to do the same things.

However, I can't entirely agree with this opinion. In my opinion, both individuals and politicians are important in addressing the environmental problem; we could not ignore the power of both of them. In some cases, the politicians would be affected by lots of elements that involve in decision making. If issuing a law to protect the environment would bring some disadvantages to economics or society, they might give up to do so. For example, factories can bring job opportunities to people and has significance to economics. Then it is hard to make some environmental protection law which can affect the operation of these factories.
