The main reason I believe that regional food, clothes, clean water, and various services are significant for citizens and authorities is developing small businesses and companies located across a road. In other words, buying something was made in your location you are becoming a part of developing. That means company owners can make a better quality of their goods or services. For example, I have recently met a local company which produces cheap and competitive couches. Nevertheless, people prefer foreign sofas with a higher cost. Even though such local purchases have many positive impacts both individually and commercially, they may possess some drawbacks. While people often prefer to purchase locally, there would never be a chance to get various products; besides, as the population increases, it may result in product scarcity.
