Question
Exercise: select conjunction to complete sentence.
A word that joins words, phrases, clauses, or sentences. There are three kinds of conjunctions:
1) Coordinating
Coordinating conjunctions include and, but, or, nor, yet, for, and so. These are used to join two items/clauses of equal importance. You have to insert a comma before the conjunction when using a coordinating conjunction to join two independent clauses.
E.g.
I want to buy a new house, but it is too expensive.
My sister lives and works in New York.
2) Correlative
Correlative conjunctions include the words in the pairs either...or..., both...and..., neither...nor..., whether...or..., not only...but also...
E.g.
I am both shocked and disappointed by your act.
Neither you nor I could do it.
3) Subordinating
Subordinating conjunctions include after, although, as, as far as, as if, as long as, as soon as......
E.g.
Come as soon as you can.
